02/27/09
As part of the celebration for the school's 5th Anniversary, Informatics Valenzuela held a Gaming Competition and Sportsfest for its students last
February 20 and 26, 2009.
The day of February 20 saw gaming competitions using the PC, Wii, and Playstation 3. For the Wii competition, students took their turns trying to set
the highest score in Wii Sports Bowling and the lowest score for Wii Sports Golf. For the Playstation 3 console, students tried their best to set
the fastest lap time in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. A complete arcade style steering wheel system and pedal set was in place for the students to use. After the
competitions ended students were allowed free use of the two consoles with a variety of different games. The PC gaming competition meanwhile saw groups of students
battling each other in the game DOTA.
The table tennis, darts, chess, and scrabble competitions were also held on February 20.
On February 26 Informatics students trooped to the Valenzuela Astrodome at Dalandanan for the main Sportsfest. Students were practicing weeks
before for the much awaited cheerdance competition. There was also a basketball tournament, volleyball competition, and tug of war.
The 2 days of festive activities marked a fitting celebration of Informatics Valenzuela's 5 years of providing quality and fun Information Technology education.
